The Role of Data Mining in Design and Implementation of Intrusion Detection Systems

Since data mining is one of the most emergingfield, when we talk about intrusion detection systems. Thispaper, proposes a system, named “The role of data mining indesign and implementation of intrusion detection system”,which will capture live data packets and will compare with ourtraining data sets to find out normal and abnormal behavior ofthe packet,the data mining algorithm which we are using is moreefficient.Basically, this paper uses the data mining approachlike association rule mining and clustering technique forimprovement of IDS and further provides lessons learned in thistask based upon our experiences in getting started on this type ofresearch work. Results are showing better approach to intrusiondetection system.
