Knowledge Management and its Efficiency and Effectiveness by Using Semantic Web Technology

The vision of the Semantic Web is to offer more intelligent services by facilitating machine understanding of content on the web. Ontologies are an important building block in the future Semantic Web. Ontologies provide a shared and common understanding of a domain that can be communicated across people and applications. This is a relevant and appropriate vision for knowledge management, too. The conventional information retrieval techniques are based on the keyword matching and full text search technology, mainly by means of catalogue, indexes, keywords and other methods to achieve. The advantage of this technique is simple, fast and easy to implement, but there are several more important issues related with the semantic web technology.
