OS BISPOS E OS LEIGOS: REFORMA CATóLICA E IRMANDADES NO RIO DE JANEIRO IMPERIAL

This article intends to accomplish an abbreviated reflection on the conflicts between the lays and the ecclesiastical hierarchy, in Rio de Janeiro, in the second half of the nineteenth century. The objective is, through this reflection, to understand the complexity of the relations among Church, State and society in the Second Reign. Este artigo pretende realizar uma breve reflex o sobre os conflitos entre os leigos e a hierarquia eclesiástica, no Rio de Janeiro, na segunda metade do século XIX. O objetivo é, através desta reflex o, compreender a complexidade das rela es entre Igreja, Estado e sociedade no Segundo Reinado.
