Prospective Analysis of 183 Cases Who Under Go For Amniocentesis of Genetic Karyotyping

The aim of this study was to evaluate the results of 183 aminocentesis cases for chromosomal analysis in high risk pregnant patients which were performed in our clinic during 2004 and 2005. Amniocentesis procedure was performed mainly for, positive triple screening test and advanced maternal age . Fetal chromosomal anomaly ratio was 4.91%. The invasive procedure success rate was %97.2 for the first time. The complication was not seen to the procedure. Amniocentesis is a safe and easily performed prenatal diagnosis and treatment method in modern perinatology.
