Democracia e lideran as políticas locais: valores e concep es políticas de candidatos a vereadores = Democracy and local political leaderships: values and political conceptions of candidates to municipal legislative positions

O artigo apresenta resultados de pesquisa realizada junto a um grupo de lideran as políticas, mais precisamente, candidatos a vereadores no último pleito eleitoral. O objetivo da investiga o foi identificar alguns valores e atitudes dos pesquisados em rela o atemas relevantes para a identifica o da cultura política dos mesmos. Através do emprego da técnica de survey e de análise quantitativa, concluímos pela existência de um paradoxo preocupante. Por um lado, foram identificadas orienta es relativamente favoráveis à democracia na sua dimens o abstrata. Por outro, constatou-se que valores como o elitismo, uma vis o hierarquizada na organiza o social e a nega o dos conflitos políticos e sociais est o presentes na cultura política dos entrevistados. The article presents research results gathered from a group of local political leaderships, more precisely, candidates to municipallegislative positions in the last elections. The objective of the investigation was to identify some values and attitudes of the candidates in relation to important themes for the identification of their political culture. Through the survey technique and quantitativeanalysis, a paradoxal concern ensues. On one hand, they were relatively identified as orientations favorable to abstract democracy on the other hand, it was verified that values as elitism, a hierarchized vision in social organization and the denial the political and social conflicts are present in the political culture of the interviewed.
