Abstract:

Beta hemolytic streptococci (BHS) of the group A are the most frequent causes of the streptococcus tonsillopharyngitis with the greatest frequency among the children of younger school age. With respect to its clinic importance, there are many unsettled issues regarding a small number of the isolated colonies BHS of the group A in the prime culture. By analyzing the percentage of the BHS of the group A presence in the prime culture of the upper respiratory ways' smears (GRP) we have tried to stress the importance of following the bacteriological finding along with the other clinic and epidemiological parameters. The GRP smears are treated by the standard bacteriological method, before and after the therapy. The percentage is determined by the semi-quantitative procedure. After the therapy, the absence of the BHS isolate of the group A in the "pure" culture points to the emergence of persistent infections and a greater number of germ carriers; even 20 children have still been colonized by the streptococcus of the group A. The research results impose the necessity of exploring the bacteriological findings of the GRP from more aspects
