Texto, metatexto y mise en abyme: Hacia el (auto)conocimiento especular en El gran mal de Gonzalo Contreras Text, metatext, mise en abyme: Towards a reflecting (self)knowledge in El gran mal by Gonzalo Contreras

El trabajo discute y analiza las relaciones y jerarquías de los textos contenidos al interior de la novela El gran mal, de Gonzalo Contreras. El análisis se ocupa de los tres tipos de comentarios metatextuales del narrador: como instancia de autorreflexividad, aquéllos dirigidos al lector implicado y los que hace con el personaje de Agata, la lectora intradiegética del texto biográfico que escribe el narrador, como asimismo del mecanismo de mise en abyme que hace posible la coexistencia de los diferentes niveles en el relato. This article discusses and analizes the levels and hierarchical relationships among the texts inside the novel El gran mal by the Chilean writer Gonzalo Contreras. The analysis focuses on the three kinds of comments the narrador carries out in his progressing biography: as self reflexivity, as comments addressed to the implied reader and those he exchanges with Agata, the intradiegetic reader of the biography. The analysis deals with the technique of mise en abyme that makes possible the various narrative levels as well.
