The author of the novel The White Tiger realistically depicted contemporary India at a time when the leaders of the country are boasting that India is the second fastest growing economy in the world, which in reality contradicts with the progress that India has made so for. The poor in India are still struggling to survive, lacking basic necessities while the rich are busy in amassing wealth, winning elections and doinh everything that pleases them.
