El sistema sanitario alemán

En el presente artículo se describe el sistema sanitario alemán. Partiendo de su origen histórico, se presentan las características fundamentales del sistema sanitario actual y los principios en los que se basa, su sistema de financiación y gestión, su modo de funcionamiento, tanto en el ámbito ambulatorio como en el hospitalario, el sistema de retribución de las prestaciones sanitarias en los sectores público y privado y algunos indicadores clave en comparación con otros países. Finalmente, se esbozan los principales ejes en los que se centra el debate sanitario actual en Alemania. ---------------------------------------------- The German healthcare system. This article describes the German healthcare system. Beginning with its historical origins, we present the basic characteristics of the current healthcare system and the principles on which it is based. We continue with its funding and management systems, its methods of operation in both outpatient and hospital settings, the system of payment for healthcare services in the public and private sectors, and some key indicators for comparing it with other countries. Finally, we outline the major themes of the current healthcare debate in Germany.
