Coordinated Development between Urban Land Intensive Use and Urbanization Level in Jiangsu Province
|
Abstract:
Urbanization is an inevitable requirement as well as a result of industrial development, and urban land intensive use is also necessary for the development of a city. However, along with the rapid development of urbanization, the contradiction between urbanization and land utilization is getting more and more obvious and tense. The main points of view on the relationship between the two are:urban construction promotes the urban land intensive use;at different stages of urbanization, urban land use is corresponding to intensive strength, use form and type;the premise of studying urban land intensive use is the full study on urbanization level and it’s development stage and features. This paper, taking Jiangsu Province as an example, has made a study on spatial differences as well as coordination between land intensive use and urbanization. With evaluation index systems of the two and global principal component analysis,we have evaluated the level of land intensive use and urbanization from 2000 to 2009 and then analyzed the temporal and spatial characteristics of them.Meanwhile,on the basis of an evaluation model of coordinated development, the coordinated degree was analyzed. The results show that:in the aspect of temporal characteristics, the levels of land intensive use and urbanization are both increasing, however, they vary in different regions—the southern area ranks the top, followed by central area and then northern area;in the aspect of spatial characteristics, the coordination between land intensive use level and urbanization level is increasing, which shows obvious gathering characteristics and significant spatial correlation. Moreover, the coordination presents a close positive correlation with regional economic development level.
