The application of the multiple tapers spectral analysis in the Q estimation
|
Abstract:
The multi-tapers spectral estimation, such as the multiple sinusoidal tapers and the Slepian tapers spectral estimation, is a powerful method of data analysis which is often used to study geophysical processes. In this paper, the two kinds of multi-tapers spectral estimation are compared by applying them in the composite decay traces with noise, and then the quality factor Q is estimated. It shows that the application result of the multiple sinusoidal tapers is much superior to that of the Slepian tapers. In addition, the spectrum with the multiple sinusoidal tapers spectral estimation is much closer to the real spectrum. So the much more accurate Q can be estimated by the use of the multiple sinusoidal tapers spectral estimation for the deep layer affected severely by the noise.
