Development and Evolvement of Weigan River-Kuche River Delta Oasis and Its Sustainable Development

Oasis is a region unit full of biological development history, scope of boundary line, scale, and agricultural production, which has its unique structure and function. In desert, human activities centralize in oasis. Nobody could survive and develop in desert without oasis. WeiGan river-KuChe river delta oases have the vicissitude from ancient oases, old oases to new oases. The study analyzed the development, distribution and evolvement law of WeiGan river-KuChe river delta oasis with statistics and graph. The reason of evolvement was discussed afterwards. The author points out that the evolvement of oasis is affected by natural factors such as dust storm, saline-alkalization, climate change, and river diversion before the twentieth century; the .following oasis desertification and the environment degradation after the twentieth century are mainly caused by unreasonable use of water and vegetation resources as well as the increasing population. The study analyzes the sustainable development of the oases of WeiGan riverKuChe river delta to prevent the existing oases from being further deserted and degenerating environment depending on the protection of natural oasis, the fertilization of land, the construction of water conservancy facilities, and the control of increasing population.
