Study on transmittable laws of seismic waves in unconsolidated layers
|
Abstract:
Through analyzing a lot of seismic data from micro-seismograms, we find that velocity gradient layers in unconsolidated sediments may arise attenuation of seismic waves. In the paper, based on the analysis of velocity structure of near surface in a desert area, we study the transmittable laws of seismic waves in linear transition layers and compare simulated data with practical seismic records. The results show that the velocity gradient layer zone is an important factor for seismic wave attenuation in unconsolidated sediment in the desert area.
