Measurement of near surface water content using ground-penetrating radar-a simulation study
|
Abstract:
To fully validate the feasibility of the GPR method in the use of measuring near surface water content, the corresponding theory and technical characteristic of GPR reflected wave method are analyzed. A velocity analysis algorithm applied to high frequency radar signal is introduced, and a local aquifer model is established for such analysis. The Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method is used to model the GPR response of the local aquifer under different measurement acquisitions. On the combination of the velocity analysis theory and the Topp formula, the water content is obtained by inverse modeling.
