Comparative Studies of China Temperature Change by Using Remote Sensing and Traditional Data
|
Abstract:
Temperature change is the hotspot of global change research, In addition to air tempera-ture, land surface temperature (LST) is also an important way to study global change. Moreover, as a major solution to retrieve LST from NOAA-AVHRR data on a large scale, split-window algorithm is used to calculate yearly and monthly LST over China from 1982 to 1992. By comparing with air tem-perature and ground temperature of the same period, authors analyze land temperature change over China and get some spatial and temporal variation features. The result of this paper shows that: (1) spa-tial variation of cloudless LST in China is consistent with that of air temperature and ground tempera-ture; (2) from the beginning of the 1980s to the beginning of the 1990s, different region has different property of temperature change, some parts increase, and some parts decrease. Furthermore the same region in different season probably has different property of temperature change, the temperature in-creases in January, but decreases in July; (3) the increase value and the corresponding area of annual LST have a good positive correlation. It is indicated that using thermal infrared bands of NQAA-AVHRR is an effective way to study land temperature change.
