Passive broadband seismic array observation across Tianshan
|
Abstract:
A passive seismic profile of more than 500 km long, consisted of 60 broadband stations, was deployed across Tianshan orogenic belt, and the field observation was performed from April, 2003 to September, 2004. During this observation, totally 1434 events were recorded. The receiver function profile across the Tianshan orogenic belt reveals the complexity of the crustal structure along the profile and obvious lateral variations of the crustal media. Our primary analysis reveals the coupling system between the Tianshan mountain and the basins on both sides. Our results also demonstrate the unclear crust-mantle boundary underneath Tianshan.
