The marine heat flow survey and the result discussion in the northern part of South China Sea
南海北部海底热流测量及分析

Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey constructed the marine geothermal survey instrument by setting the Germany made micro-temperature logger on the self made gravity coring tube. And the subsequent geothermal survey is made in the north of South China Sea. It is the first time for China to do such kind of thing independently and it marks the new method try in marine geology and geophysical survey of our country. Through analysis of geothermal data and comparing them with those obtained in Xisha trough by Sino-American cooperation, the good reliance and agreement of the data is illustrated. Its success will be helpful for the further work of marine geothermal survey and thus improve both the exploration of gas hydrates under the sea and the study of fundamental marine geology.
