A Bayesian Recursive Estimate Strategy for Autonomous Exploration
|
Abstract:
Passively accepting measurements of the world is not enough,as the data we obtain is always incomplete, and the inferences made from it uncertain to a degree that is often unacceptable. Two methods are generally adopted to obtain reliable data:one is multi sensor data fusion;the other is to build machines that operate autonomously.A Bayesian recursive estimate strategy is applied to autonomous exploration systems, and it deliberately seeks out those parts of the world that maximize the fidelity of its internal representations, and keeps searching until those representations are acceptable.
