Expert System Model for Raster Map Recongnition

Data aquisition is a basic part of GIS,and currently various map data is still the main data source of GIS.So research on the method to rapidly transform raster data of scanned map to vector data is valuable.In this paper,based on the detailed analysis on the knowledge types needed in map recognition,model of symbol object,knowledge representation method and knowledge utilizition policy,an expert system model for raster map recognition is proposed.
