HETEROKARYOSIS IN PAECILOMYCES FARINOSUS
|
Abstract:
The heterokaryosis in Paecilomyces farinosus was demonstrated by nuclear staining and genetic analysis. The homokaryon compositions were obtained by splitting hyphae with helicase and cellulase. The heterokaryon which has the same feature with original strain was synthesized by mating the two homokaryon compositions. The nuclear staining showed that both conidia and mycelia are multi-nucleate.Combining with other phenomena,it was proved that heterokaryosis is stable in the life cycle. All of this indicated that the field isolate 8318 of P.farinosus is perpetual heterokaryons.Understanding this phenomenon is very important for improving the biological control effect.
