Through studying the attribute reduction algorithm based on discernibility matrix in rough set theory, an algorithm of attribute heuristic reduction was put forward, which can be used to optimize the case fault attributes. Three key dements were considered in the algorithm, and the effectiveness of the algorithm was proved through the optimization of the fault cases attributes of communication equipment.
