Concurrently executing mechanism to secure handoff optimization for IPv6-based wireless networks
|
Abstract:
This paper proposed a FMIPv6-based concurrently executing handoff method CE-FMIPv6, which integrated wireless shared key exchange (W-SKE) into FMIPv6 and substitutes previous access router (PAR) for mobile node to complete the binding update process. With the assistant of PAR, executed the mutual authentication, binding update and layer 2 handoff simultaneously, and improved the handoff delay caused by binding update and authentication evidently. The modeling analysis indicates that this method can reach a good compromise between security and handoff efficiency.
