CALCULATION ON ELECTROMAGNETIC FORCE IN ELECTROMAGNETIC STIRRING OF CONTINUOUS CASTING OF STEEL

Abstract:
By using a transformed model equation of rotating magnetic field and the boundary renewal method, a numerical model has been developed to analyze the electromagnetic force field produced by the rotating magnetic field in electromagnetic stirring processing of continuous casting of steel. The model is used to calculate the magnetic fields in billets with different sizes. Results show that the calculated magnetic flux density agrees well with the experimental one. At the same time, the 3D distributions of electromagnetic forces are given in detail under variable parameters.
