Determination of odorous compounds in black-odorous Zhupai Creek(Nanning) by purge and trap coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry

The purge and trap pretreatment technique and GC/MS method were used to determine the typical odorous compounds in Zhupai Creek,Nanning city.Results show that the main odorous compounds in Zhupai Creek are benzene homologues,sulfide compounds and Chlorobenzene compounds.Some sulfide compounds such as dimethyl sulfide(relative content 1.70%),dimethyl disulfide(relative content 3.19%),methyl propyl disulfide(relative content 6.11%) and other volatile organic substances are the main odorous compounds which cause the odorous smell in Zhupai Creek.
