Study on waste emulsions treatment by vibratory membrane
|
Abstract:
The effect of vibratory shear enhanced processing(VSEP)on two waste emulsions treatment was investigated, and the performance of VSEP on controlling membrane fouling was also evaluated according to the changes of membrane flux.In addition, the mechanism of VSEP on maintaining high membrane flux was discussed. Results showed that, for two emulsions, more than 93.5% of COD,99% of oil could be removed and SS could be completely rejected. The membrane flux increased instead of declining during ultrafiltration, which could be attributed to the higher temperature and lower viscosity of water samples caused by high shear stress, which in turn resulted in further enhancement of shear forces.
