A simulation study on the effect of inlet eave structural parameters on airflow distribution in electrostatic precipitation
|
Abstract:
The structural parameters of inlet eaves in relation to electrostatic precipitation(ESP) not only significantly influence the uniformity of airflow distribution, but also affect the collection efficiency and emission indices. The effects of different structural parameters, including the inlet eave spread angle, gas distribution plate hole shape, hole ratio and deflector angle,on the uniformity of airflow distribution are studied using a three-dimensional simulation. The model used for these calculations is a Euler-Lagrange multiphase flow model. Results show that better airflow distribution uniformity can be achieved by using a gas distribution plate with a square hole shape. Results also show that the airflow distribution can be effectively improved by adjusting the inlet eave spread angle, hole ratio and deflector angle. The results obtained in this study can be used for the design and optimization of inlet eaves in electrostatic precipitation.
