A study on dynamic adsorption of coking and papermaking wastewaters by bottom ash

Physical and chemical characteristics of the bottom ash,such as mineral composition,chemical composition and surface area,were determined in this paper.Adsorption of coking and papermaking wastewaters by bottom ash was studied as functions of flow rate and bed depth by column experiments.Bottom ash could treat wastewater via coagulation besides adsorption,and POC was much more easily removed via coagulation.The percentage of POC in TOC was 17.0% for coking wastewater,and only 2.3% for papermaking wastewater...
