Treatment of liquid crystal and recovery of indium from liquid crystal display

Abstract:
Each important process of LCD recovery technology was studied under laboratory conditions. A set of techniques for polarizer removal and LCD glass separation and liquid crystal dissolution by acetone ,and indium leaching by sulfuric acid and manganese dioxide were designed. The recovery rate of indium could be reached 89%. Indium can be obtained from the leachant by extraction, chemical replacement and electrowinning. The article provides experiment data and technical support for reuse and detoxification of LCD.
