Study on catalytic ozonation of 4-chlorophenol and coking wastewater on activated carbon fiber
|
Abstract:
The ozonation of 4-chlorophenol was catalyzed by YT-1000 activated carbon fiber, the optimal reaction conditions were studied and used for catalytical oxidation of the organic pollutants hardly to be degraded in the coking wastewater.ACF with abundant micro pore on the surface absorb 4-chlorophenol efficiently, higher initial concentration of 4-chlorophenol increased the reaction kinetics of O3 oxidation and the groups containing O and N on the ACF surface can catalyze the ozonation. When 2 g/L ACF was added to 100 mg/L 4-chlorophenol for 6 min,the TOC removal rates of sorption was 43.4% while it increased to 72.5% when ACF cooperated with O3 which is 67.1% increasing of the removal rate.Under the optimum reaction conditions, the coking wastewater treated by biological tanks were degraded by ACF cooperated with O3.After 60 min,the removal rates of TOC and color achieved 56.8% and 96.3% respectively. The results indicated that the cooperation of sorption and catalysis can effectively degrade the inertial organic pollutants in the coking wastewater treated by biological tanks.
