Study on decolorization effect and influencing factors of methylene blue in CuO/TiO2-H2O2 photocatalytic system under visible light
|
Abstract:
The TiO2 powder photocatalyst was prepared by hydrolyze method, and CuO/TiO2 photocatalyst was prepared by CuO supported on these TiO2. Influence of H2O2 concentration, pH value and TiO2 concentration were studied by examing decolorization rate of methylene blue under visible light. And photocatalytic activity of TiO2 photocatalyst without CuO was also studied as contrast. Methylene blue can be preferably decolorized under alkaline condition. Decolorization rate reaches the best when H2O2 is 10 mL per 1 000 mL methylene blue and photocatalysts dosage is 0.1 g. TiO2 photocatalyst also can decolorize methylene blue under alkaline condition, but decolorization rate reaches the best when H2O2 is 12.5 mL and photocatalyst dosage is 0.1 g. Contrast experiment under optimum conditions shows that decolorization rate using CuO/TiO2 photocatalyst reaches 88% within 2 h, which is much better than TiO2 and Degussa P25.
