Distribution characteristics of carbon, nitrogen and phosphor in the sediments of southern Shandong adjacent seas

We studied the contents and distribution characteristcs of total nitrogen(TN), total phosphor(TP), and total organic carbon(TOC) in the surface sediments of southern Shandong adjacent seas. TN, TP and TOC were not very high in these areas. The relative higher districts were at the mouth of the Jiaozhou Bay and northern of the research area. The concentration of TN ranged from 0.31 mg/g to 0.75 mg/g with a mean of 0.52 mg/g. TP ranged from 0.18 mg/g to 0.32 mg/g with a mean of 0.24 mg/g. TOC ranged from 0.17% to 0.49% with a mean of 0.33%. The correlation analysis showed that TOC and TN had relatively better result. The ratio of TOC/TN was a little higher than the Redfield ratio, which means these two biogenic factor may come from the same source.
