Operation estimation of the uasb reactor based on a fuzy comprehensive evaluation model

Abstract:
The fuzzy C-mean cluster method was used to analyze the data collected from an Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket reactor (UASB) shocked with toxic load, so as to obtain the membership function of various operation states of the UASB reactor from its performance parameters under stable operating conditions. The results showed that the factor collection {Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA), Alkalinity (ALK),Volume Gas Production (VGP), and CH4} reflected the actual operating states of the anaerobic bioreactor, and their optimum weights were distributed as 0.40, 0.20, 0.10, 0.30]. It is therefore concluded that the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model could effectively estimate the operating state of the anaerobic bioreactor, and could determine the membership degree of different operation states at any time.
