Experimental study on the removal of NOx from flue gases by corona oxidation in conjunction with chemical absorption
|
Abstract:
With moist air as the radical source, an experimental study was carried out for the removal of NO_x from flue gases by a DC corona discharge activated radical shower in conjunction with alkali solution (25% by weight of NaOH in water) scrubbing. The results of the study showed that a steady streamer corona could be obtained by adjusting the flow rate of the moist air fed into the nozzle electrode; the vapor in the moist air exerted an influence on the efficiency of NO_x removal; both HNO_2 and HNO_3 were simultaneously generated in the reactor with NO_x conversion rate being higher than 45%, and the overall efficiency of NO_x removal in the system can reach 70% after alkali solution scrubbing under the experimental conditions.
