Effect of Temperature on Bioleaching of Cr from Tannery Sludge
|
Abstract:
Bioleaching processes are normally sensitive to temperature fluctuations. Shake flask experiments were conducted to examine these effects in the temperature range of 12-36 degrees C. The results showed that there was an increase in the rates of pH reduction and Cr solubilization efficiency with the increase of the temperature of bioleaching reaction. After 8 days of bacterial leaching treatment, almost 100% of Cr could be leached from tannery sludge at the temperature of 28 degrees C and 36 degrees C. The temperature of 28 degrees C is recommended to be employed in the future realistic operation.
