PROGRESS ON VANADIUM INDUCED CORROSION
|
Abstract:
The combustion of fuel of vanadium containing residual oil may induce severe accelerated oxidation or deterioration of metallic materials. The so called ash corrosion is related to the impurities such as V?Na?S that exist in oil ash. Many scholars have made a lot of investigations with some encouraging progress in this field, but there are still some problems. No economical and effective method for inhibiting this kind of corrosion has been found. This paper reviews the mechanisms of vanadium corrosion, the effective factors and techniques for protecting alloys from vanadium corrosion.
