A REVIEW ON EFFECT OF REACTIVE ELEMENTS ON OXIDATION OF METALS
|
Abstract:
The addition of reactive elements (RE) can have a significant effect on the oxidation behavior of the alloys of alumna and chromia former.Up to now,the mechanism through which RE plays the role has not been understood clearly. In this paper, the models developed previously to explain the RE effect have been reviewed, and comments on every REE model have been proposed. It is suggested that the change of oxide grain boundary and oxide/metal interface due to RE addition may be investigated carefully in the future.
