Penaeid shrimp Penaeus japonicus,commonly named as Flowery Shrimp or Banded Shrimp,is one of the most commercially important species of marine crustacean fishery in China.Being of the warm-water species conducting short distance migration,the animal is mainly distributed in the coastal waters of south China,i.e.the southern part of the East China Sea and the South China Sea (Liu et al.,1986).
