The Diagnosis of Diabatic Heating Produce by the IAP T42 L9 Global Spectral Model

As far as one synoptic process is concerned;; during which the subtropical high over thewestern Pacific shifted to northwest and Meiyu at the Yangtze River valley terminated;; the diabatic heatparameterized by the model of IAP T42L9 is conipared with that derived from assimilated data bymeans of the " budget" method. It is concluded that the horizonal distribution of the diabatic heat of themodel is substantially reasonable;; but the heat is smaller than that from " budget " method in the tropicalarea and middle and high latitude areas in the Southern Hemisphere. And the vertical distribution of theheat in the Northern Hemisphere is also reasonable;; but there exists difference between the two kinds ofheat in the Southern Hemisphere. These results give an propor explanation that the model can predictvariatinn of synpotic system at middle and high latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere and thesubtropical high over western Pacific;; and that the subtropical high predicated by the model is lowerthan that in the real data.
