A diffuse type of theorctical solution,interrelatedwith experimental ob-servations?is given to reveal the characteristics of shear-band bifurcation. This effort is usedto distinguish material bifurcation from structural buckling(bifurcation).It is demonstratedthat the rate of porosity development is governing the process of shear banding,instead ofattributing to the amount of porosity itself.
