Optimization of High-Speed Interconnection Circuits with SQP in Time Domain

Abstract:
Based on the network modeling and sensitivity analysis of transmission lines with the method of characteristics, an optimization design method in time domain is developed for the interconnections in nonlinear high-speed circuits. Considering the characteristic of high-speed interconnection circuit design that the optimum of the parameter generally locates in the neighbourhood of the initial value, a series quadratic programming (SQP) optimization method is proposed to ensure the entirety convergence and superlinear local convergence of the algorithm. The network modeling and the sensitivity analysis of transmission lines with the method of characteristics used in the inner optimization cycle are also introduced briefly. Finally the feasibility of this method is demonstrated by two examples.
