Feedback Stabilization of Euler-Bernoulli Beam

Abstract:
This paper deals with the control problem of the bending vibration for an Euler-Bernoulli beam with massive end-point by nonlinear boundary feedback. At first, the spectral structure of the system is analyzed. Then, a nonlinear feedback control on the boundary is proposed to stabilize the transverse vibration of the beam, and the asymptotic stability is proved for the corresponding closed loop system. Finally, some simulation results are presented.
