ANALYSIS ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF URBAN VEGETATION AND ITS MAPPING BASED ON REMOTE SENSING AND GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM
|
Abstract:
A set of methodologies for urban vegetation classification and mapping are suggested. The urban vegetation classification system was established based on the acquirement method of urban vegetation information and eco_physiognomy classification principle. The system can be mapped according to plant life form. There are 9 vegetation types and 34 sub_vegetation types which are natural or semi_natural vegetation and artificial vegetation. The database for sample area was set up by using remote sensing data and Geographic Information System(GIS), based on which the relationship between the urban vegetation and the land_use pattern was analyzed in order to know the characteristics of urban vegetation well. Spatial positioning and quantification of urban vegetation laid a foundation for the estimation of ecological benefit of urban vegetation and urban ecological planning and management.
