Discovery of a moss family Schistostegaceae in Changbai Mountain, China

The luminous moss, Schistostega pennata (Hedw.)Web. et Mohr belonging to the family Schistostegaceae was discovered from Changbai Mountain, Northeast China. The morphological characteristics, ecology and distribution of this species are described and discussed.
