Improvement in Assay of Protease Activity by Gel Electrophoresis

Protease plays an important role in various processes of plant development. In order to identify specific proteolytic activities, gel electrophoresis was employed for protease activity assay. Some improvements was accomplished for estimating the molecular weight of the pursued protease, determining the optimal temperature and pH for protease activity in gel. The relevant factors, which may affect assay of protease activity, were analyzed in details.
