Genetics Research into Crop Domestication and Its Application in Soybean Breeding
|
Abstract:
Domestication genetics is one of the hot fields in evolutionary biology. The evolutionary history of crop domestication must be revealed for further understanding the origin and development of modern cultivation methods and agronomy, as well as for using wild resources to develop novel germplasm and improve the yield and quality of crop cultivars. In this paper, we review recent progress in genetics research of crop domestication, especially the domestication of cultivated soybean. Future research into the origin of soybean and utilization of wild soybean resources are also discussed.
