THE PRIORITY METHOD APPLIED TO HAZARD ASSESSMENT OF ROCK CUT SLOPE IN HONG KONG
|
Abstract:
Landslips would result in significant loss of life and property, especially in the area of densely populated city like Hong Kong. Confined by the resources and time invested, only the most hazard slopes could be treated and stabilized. Therefore, it is important to develop a methodology to evaluate specified slopes. A system of priority classification in Hong Kong is presented for the rock cut slope which is rendered with the concept of engineering risk assessment. Calibration studies and field investigation demonstrate the effectiveness and practical aspects.
