Genetic markers including allozyme,mtDNA,RAPD/RFLP and micro DNA have been used in the research of helminth population genetics.Available data on helminth genetic variability have shown that most helminth populations exhibit different levels of genetic variation resulting mainly from the pattern of life cycle,geographical distribution and parasite-host interaction,and several hypotheses have been proposed to explain the genetic variation.
