In this study, the effect of lowering PARP activity on the transfection of cultured cells with foreign genes was evaluated. The results indicated that PARP enzyme involved in the stable integration of foreign genes into the host genome. However, inhibition of PARP activity exhibited no effect on both the uptake into the cells and the expression of the foreign genes.
