An antagonistic actinomyces strain isolated from soil in the suburb of Urumuqi inXinjiang was studied on the morphology,physiology,biocbemistry and chemical composition ofcell wall.Based on the taxonomic characteristics,we considered it as a new subspecies belongingto Streptomyces,and named it Streptomyces saraceticus var. Urumqiense n. var.
