TAXONOMIC STUDIES OF STREPTOMYCETACEAE STRAIN SIPI-297
链霉菌科一菌株SIPI—297的分类学研究

During screening immunosuppressant SIPI-297, a single aerobic mesophilic species ofnew genus belonging to the family Streptomycetaceae of the Actinomycetales, isolated from a soilsample in Jiangsu Province of China, is proposed. The new genus has been namedStreptomycopsis gen. nov. The type strain of the genus is mainly characterized: spores chain isformed (mainly 5~ 7 spores) and closely borne on the main axis of sporogenous hyphae, formingaxogamic spores chain and curveing on the top. Cell wall type II, the phospholipid pattern is oftype PII, the major menaquinoes are MK--9(H4). G C mol % is 74.0. The new genus has beennamed Streptomycopsis gen. nov. The type strain has been named Streptomycopsis albus sp. nov.
